Andrea Marcante set up UdA architecture firm in 1992, where he was joined by Adelaide Testa in 2004.
The interior architecture projects designed by Andrea Marcante and Adelaide Testa aim to gain synergic control over the various aspects of interior design, ranging from architecture to furnishing accessories, without allowing either to take precedence over the other.
Their home interiors are supposed to be both serious and fun, rustic and cosmopolitan, democratic and refined, practical and elegant, manly and delicate: if certain interiors excite us, it is because they are examples of possible choices between conflicting aspects of our personality, of the legitimate aspiration to transform our own disturbing contradictions into something beautiful.
Keeping to this unifying thread over a period in time, lots of these projects have been awarded commendations and prizes, encouraging the firm to continue along the path of architecture that embraces both reason and emotion in a spirit of renewed human awareness.
In 2014 Andrea Marcante and Adelaide Testa set up COSE DA BOCIA, a firm focusing on experimentation into furniture design for children (and not only children), and presented their first collection during the Off-the-show events of the Milan Furniture show at Vanitas Gallery.
